Punta Blanca is one of our smallest communities, located on the coast of Ecuador, near the town of Jama. Part of Ecuador's 'ruta del sol', this community has a beautiful beach and a warm tropical climate.
Despite lack of fiscal resources, progress is being made to further develop this community, including renovations to the local school, and the construction of functional public restrooms.

Over the past three years S.A.H.L.U.D. has served the community of Punta Blanca through medical clinics and public health education. While our clinics help treat a wide variety of ailments from anemia to parasitic infections, more importantly, our lectures aim to address and help solve the main concerns of the community. Particularly relevant here is education concerning environmental issues, due to the fact that the village relies heavily on a fragile ecosystem for food and livelihood. By working hand-in-hand with community leaders, as well as targeting children through educational games and activities, we hope to stress the importance of keeping this beautiful beach pollution-free.
